Data for the following paper: Subramanian, K., L. Andrus, and A. Ben-Yakar, “Ultrafast laser surgery probe with a calcium fluoride miniaturized objective for bone ablation,” Biomedical Optics Express, 2021. This file contains the raw profilometry data used to evaluate the ablation performance of the probe described in Subramanian et. al., BOE, 2021. Analysis of this data is shown in Fig. 4 of Subramanian et. al., BOE, 2021. Individual datasets consist of 3D profiles of ablation trenches created on the surface of bovine rib bones for multiple experimental conditions. Datasets are formatted as follows: X_Y_Z_n.asc X = average power (in Watts). Repetition rate of laser is 303 kHz. Divide pulse energy by beam area (w0 = 1.96 um) to determine fluence. Y = voltage output of wave function generator driving piezo. Related to FOV scan width. 3V = 30 um, 6V = 66 um, 9V = 92 um Z = translation speed of the sample relative to probe tip (in mm/s). Piezo-scanned FOV is translated in 1D @ a speed = Z. n = alphanumeric identifier for datasets (i.e., ablation trenches) acquired using the same conditions, i.e., same fluence, FOV scan width, and translation speed.
